Unit: This thing is great but LCD is MUCHO better. So look at both in some store where you can get a demo of DLP next to LCD. That way you can make up your own mind. Or go to FRYS and get both and try em both. Unfortunately no one is going to be able to tell ya which is the best until you get it home ;)
Kuja thinks this unit is a waste of time, not enough sharpness to it and more to the point Kuja thinks it to be a waste of time to buy and try. Just buy the Sony and deal with it! |
Unit: Overall this unit is great, I personally don't like DLP technology thought it gave me a headache (common side effect). In addition the LCD technology bleeds over (between each pixel so you cannot see each pixel as easily). Overall its fine however I did not like the DLP so I returned it. One major issue was that there was no pin cushion adjustment ability. Meaning that if the unit was not straight on you would get a picture that was not completely square/rectangular.

Well remember we fuckin like Sony here so already you can see a bias. Kuja likes this unit, it displays very typical Sony thinking, in that they have thought through lots of stuff very well.
One major problem - 16:9 native and it does not do 4:3 native it stretches to fit, meaning that if you have HDTV you are golden, but if you expect it to automatically convert back and forth you are mistaken. Understanding that, if you are OK with that fact then you have probably found your projector.
Honestly, Kuja is not Kuja can tolerate this downfall however Kuja overcame this and was able to keep it. |
This is a fantastic Projector; we ended up keeping it and projecting right on the wall. BUY this one if you are interested in a projector. Itfs great for Movies which is what you should be using a Projector for anyway ;) |
